Power crisis in GMC&H hits emergency services in Govt hospitals | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 27: All emergency services in Government Medical College and Hospital and its Associated Hospitals as well as Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu remained affected as special lines of PPD allegedly developed technical snag. Major power crisis allegedly surfaced in Govt Medical College Hospital in Jammu and its associated hospitals, as the power supply to the hospital has remained snapped since 1:00 AM till the power supply was restored at 5 PM. However, hospital administration of various hospitals including GMC&H claimed that patient care was not hampered due to this technical snag as the critical care units and emergency services immediately were put up on Gen Sets. Sources within GMC&H Jammu told Early Times that some problems were reported to regulate the supply from the Oxygen cylinders. "The essential services too got affected in the hospital including centrally air-conditioned new Emergency block after ACs started dysfunction during intense humid conditions adding to the woes of the attendants and patients, they added. Meanwhile when contacted Medical Superintendent GMC&H Jammu Dr Romesh Gupta said all the vital equipments in the hospital were put on gen set and no patients' care services were hampered. |
