Resentment brews over erratic electricity supply
7/28/2016 10:22:10 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 28: The public of Laxmipuram - sector-B -2 area of ward No: - 62, Municipal Corporation Jammu, in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Kumar Rao, an active member of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice, expressed great resentment over the unbearable erratic supply of electricity and water in the area for lost more than a year despite number of representations to the concerned authorities duly endorsed by concerned Ministers/MLAs.
Addressing the inhabitants of the area in the meeting Rao wondered as to why electricity is being snapped in Laxmipurm B-1/B-2 area of ward No:-62, Municipal Corporation Jammu, as compared of the adjoining areas like Chinore, Roop Nagar Enclave & Durga Nagar etc.
The inmates feel discriminated over this act of the authorities.
The people of the area have been suffering badly from the shortage of power supply for the last one year due to the apathetic attitude of the officials of the power development department, responsible for ensuring the proper supply of electricity in the area.
When we contacted the local lower staff of PDD it was told that the supply of electricity to the area get disrupted as and when it rains and whenever the wind blows hard in the area.
The reason behind this power cut is said to be that the area of Pattian & Keran villages and its adjoining areas do not have any proper system for restoring the supply of power after the stoppage of rain and wind whatsoever or to cut the supply to the particular area where the fault has developed.
However the reason behind the development of the fault in the supply of power, whatsoever, is not known to us. That due to this aforesaid stated reason, the residents of the whole area have to remain without electricity for nights together and have to pass sleepless nights, thereby causing great inconvenience and trouble to the residents of the aforesaid area.
They urged the Dy. Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh to look into this grave injustice & discrimination immediately failing which public will be constrained to come on roads, he cautioned.
