VO books JKPCC Cashier, spares `tainted' MD | | | Early Times Report srinagar, July 28: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) few days ago booked a Cashier of JKPCC Unit Kulgam, for gratification in lieu of drawl of bills on account of some works, executed by corporation. However, as usual the big `sharks' have been spared yet again, a few employees voiced their concern. According to them, the SVO is reluctant to take action against the Managing Director (MD) inspite of the fact that he is involved in several corruption cases. Details available with Early Times reveal that Vigilance Organisation conducted a verification against JKPCC which revealed that one Mohammad Amin Dar, the then Cashier of JKPCC Unit Kulgam, received an amount of Rs 3.48 lakh as illegal gratification through his Bank Account No: SB-3381 J&K Bank Branch T P Kulgam. The said bribe money was deposited into cashier's account by one Abdul Rehman Waza , Ashiq Hussain Shah both residents of Mohalla Malpora, Kulgam and Mohammad Iqbal Bhat of Mohalla Karewa Kulgam who are Piece Workers of JKPCC Unit Kulgam . This money was paid to cashier against the drawl of bills in their favour on account of some works executed by them. The work was allotted by JKPCC Unit Kulgam to the said piece workers. The State Viglance Organisation (SVO) during the verification found that the said cashier had first received the bribe money through his bank account and then facilitated the drawl of bills in favour of the Piece Workers. According to SVO these acts on part of accused persons constitute offences under Section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act Svt, 2006, Section 4(A), 4(F) J&K PC (Amended-2014) Act and accordingly a case under FIR No. 17/2016, was registered in Police Station VOK and investigation has been taken up.Vigilance "We hail Vigilance Organisation for booking a cashier of JKPCC , but at the same time it upsets honest officials of Corporation when the top officials who run the show are left untouched. The MD of JKPCC is involved in several corruption cases. He allotted 37 crore work Ganpat bridge to a blue eyed contractor without even tendering it many years back . Recently a 17 Crore bridge work was allotted to another contractor by the same MD. We appeal Chief Miniser , Chief Vigilance Commissioner and Director SVO to take action against the MD of JKPCC as well , because all the lower-rung officials of JKPCC give him a cut from their bribe money" alleges Fayaz Ahmad (name changed) an employee of JKPCC |
