BJP ministers to report on valley unrest to party high command | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 28: The BJP ministers have been asked the party high command to send their recount of the unrest in the valley and how they used their office to handle and diffuse the situation. According to the sources the Home Minister, on his visit to the valley, in a detailed meeting with the deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, had asked him to send his recount and also that of the other ministers about how they joined the hands of the administration in handling the situation, "The violent unrest in the valley had thrown up an administrative challenge to the BJP, who though were first timers. It was an adversary that they could have come upto the mark and learned some administrative experience and rather made a mark in the Kashmir, but sadly that was not upto the mark. We will study their recount and they will hold talks with them each ," said the senior BJP leader. According to sources the home minister delayed his visit as he was expecting the local BJP ministers to at least establish some contact with the local civil society in the Kashmir, that could have sent the message that BJP is equally serious in diffusing the situation, but sadly it didn't happen and the home minister than had to made his visit,. "It was Rajnath Singh who struck a chord with the ordinary Kashmiri and also galvanized the administration. Though he is an experienced hand and only second to the PM Modi, but state BJP ministers should have also shown some interest but they just kept looking at the Central government and central leadership./ They were not accepted to behave like this," said the top leader. The sources said the top leadership of the BJP wants local BJP ministers to establish link with the local Kashmiri people and their recount will help the party how they are going about it and how the things can be improved. |
