Daljit meets Maharashtra counterpart, discusses agri growth | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 28: Daljit Singh Chib, (Minister of State), Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans undertook five day study tour to Maharashtra state. At Maharashtra, he called on Minister of Agriculture Akash Pandurang Fundkar and discussed various issues related to Agriculture and Horticulture growth in J&K State. Since Horticulture and Agriculture in Maharashtra is a flourishing sector, the Vice Chairman requested the Minister to provide the technical knowhow of the modern techniques to our farmers for their overall development. The officers of Horticulture , Agriculture and Maharashtra Marketing Board who were present in the meeting assured the Vice Chairman to train the farmers of J&K as and when deputed for orientation courses and trainings to this state. The Vice Chairman also visited Mahabaleshwar where strawberry and grapes of high quality are being produced. The Vice Chairman also visited Nasik from where the 70% of onion is supplied to all other states of our country. The Vice Chairman also agreed to send the progressive farmers to Maharashtra State in the coming months to bring a new era in the field of Horticulture in J&K with new technological intervention. The Vice Chairman was keen to observe the success which the Maharashtra Government is achieving for undertaking massive initiative for organic farming. |
