Varinder of KC Public bags chess title Inter-school DYSS competitions of Jammu 7/28/2016 10:24:38 PM JAMMU, July 28: Varinder Singh of KC Public School bagged chess title in the ongoing inter-school district level under-19 boys competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today. Competition in other disciplines of Badminton, Taekwondo and Judo, in same age group of under-19 boys, also took place at the same venue on the second day today. Earlier, in chess final, Varinder defeated Ishan of MIER. In the semifinals, Varinder defeated Anju of DBN School while Ishan trounced Sahil Singh of BSF School Paloura. BADMINTON BOYS: Army Public School (APS) Kaluchak bagged the under-19 boys badminton title outplaying APS Jammu Cantonment 2-0. The Results: Mohit bt Aryan. Doubles: Aryan and Aryanveer bt Mohit and Satwik. SEMIFINALS: Army Pubic School (APS) Jammu Cantonment bt SRML School 2-1. Results: Singles: Shivansh lost to Rajeev. Doubles: Aryaveer and Aryan bt Rajeev and Dhrub. Riverse Singles: Aryan bt Mannat. APS Kaluchak bt BSF Paloura 2-0. Results: Singles: Mohit bt Prajwal. Doubles: Mohit and Satwik lost to Prajwal and Siddant. Reverse singles: Mannat bt Vishwant. BADMINTON GIRLS: The Army Pubic School (APS) Domana, Presentation Convent, APS Jammu Cantonment and APS Kaluchak qualified for the semifinals. The Results: Quarterfinals: APS Domana bt MHAC Nagbani 2-0; Presentation Convent bt MIER 2-0; APS Jammu Cantonment bt HSS Heritage Public School 2-0; APS Kaluchak bt HSS Akhnoor 2-0.
