Const work of SDH Mandi in doldrums for insufficient funds 7/28/2016 11:04:14 PM Sarfraz Early Times Report Poonch, July 28: The construction work of Sub district Hospital (SDH) Mandi was stopped suddenly since March 2016 due to insufficient funds but the people of the area are standing on loser's end. According to local reports, Health and Medical Education Department has not released funds due to which the contractor has stopped the construction work of Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mandi. "The three story building of this hospital was sanctioned in the year 2014 and their construction work was initiated in starting of previous year at an estimate cost of Rs 4 .94 Crore, sources said, adding, "till date department concern has released only Rs One Crore." The locals lamented that due to the much awaited health project abandoned in half way is only making people top face problems as a huge populace scattered around the Mandi township is dependent upon this SDH which is centrally located but has shortage of space to accommodate the in-patients. "In majority of cases patients were either refered to DH Poonch or Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, they rued and added, " it puts extra financial burden on poor patients.'
