Early Times Report

Samba, July 28: The population dependent on Primary Health Centre (PHC) Nud has to feel the brunt as the only ambulance available with this health institute is driverless and is reduced to a 'white elephant' - as it is just a junk without driver.
The local people in case of emergencies are dependent upon the private taxis which often prove costly to the poor people of the area but none is bothered for the poor masses of area.
Alleging the present regime has utterly failed to come to expectation of people of rural areas, the locals said, "BJP-PDP government failed to provide basic facilities to the people in Primary Health Centre (PHC) Nud in Samba district." The PHC Nud is running without ambulance driver for last three months, they lamented and said, "The ambulance has turned a piece of junk metal without driver and make faces upon patient who need it direly but are left with no option but to hire private transport, they added.
"Residents of far flung villages situated in Nud block like Danth, Kapai, Sarian, Nullaha, Checkowan, Slater, Janda, Janda Gujran are facing lot of problems due to non availability of ambulance driver in Primary Health centre Nud Samba, they added while highlighting their problems.
"The people of this area are facing a lot of problems to shift the patient in District Hospital (DH) Samba, they added. Locals have warned the health authorities to post a driver for the ambulance at earliest otherwise they will be forced to blocked Nud Mansar road to impress upon government to concede to their demand.
According to health officials on 27April 2016 Ambulance driver Ronak Lal was transferred to Kot Bhalwal and he was replaced by Ajit Pal Singh from Primary Health Centre Mansar to PHC Nud nut Ajit Singh yet has not joined the new posting reasons best known to officials concerned
When contacted Block Medical Officer (BMO) Nud Sudershan Singh Katoch said that keeping in view the problem of people the department has made a make shift arrangement by arranging ambulance driver from PHC Bainglar on temporary basis.
