Impressed by CM's ID speech, PM to support Mahbooba on all fronts | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16: The Prime Minister has decided to give full support to the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on all the fronts in handling the Kashmir situation. The PM had reportedly welcomed the speech of the chief minister on the I-Day. The PM has also approved the decision of the State government for not holding the cultural programme as part of the I-Day celebrations but was also highly critical of the National Conference and the Congress for not attending the I-Day function at the Srinagar, which is believed to be above the party lines. "The PM was appreciative of the speech of the CM which was critical of violence and invoked the ethos of the Kashmir for brining the peace. He also specifically appreciated the speech of m the CM for bringing an end to the violence and then getting other things done," said a senior official, wishing not to be named. According to the sources, the PM has sent a message to the CM that all support first for handling the situation and then carrying forward the peace-process by any means will eb carried only after the consultation with the CM. ""The PM by approving the speech of the CM has also sent a clear message that not only he but the party also stands by her in this hour of the crisis. He has also sent message, which was intitially sent by the home minister, that any decision of the CM will be accepted and even any suggestion of her will be taken care off and then moved on," said the official. Sources said the BJP doesn't want to take much credit for possible holding of the parleys to break the log-jam and then brining in 'stake-holders' to bring more tangible peace. "The PM has decided that any positive movement in the Kashmir should be credited to the PDP, which is fighing a tough fight and should be strengthened. It has to be made more strong and PMO and HM will make every step but to the credit of the CM," said the sources. |
