Despite tall claims rural schools still san 'teaching faculty' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 24: Locals and trade union bodies have alleged that many government schools in urban areas are still flooded with surplus staff who managed their postings/attachments on different grounds either in unholy nexus with the higher officials or on managed medical/ security threat certificates while schools in remote areas still are facing shortage of teaching faculty. "Despite tall claims by the senior officials of the Education Department that the teachers have been provided at every government school after recent large scale transfers,( after summer vacations) inhabitants of many areas have refuted the claims of the department and said many schools still lack required subject wise teachers, locals alleged. They said, "Many government schools in urban areas are still flooded with surplus staff who managed their postings/attachments on different grounds including medical grounds in nexus with the higher officials." "Many schools in far flung areas where no private institution is available, have large number of students but unfortunately the department has failed to provide teachers as per sanctioned strength and as per subject wise, they said. Office holders of Pir Panchal Regional Employees Front (PPREF) have leveled allegations of favoritism in the recent transfers of the teachers and alleged blue eyed were not disturbed and those who have no political/ or other approaches have been adjusted in far off areas. Some PPREF leaders also disclosed that a deputation of the PPREF had called on Director School Education and it was their complaint that two members of Transfer Committee have been placed under suspension by the Director Education. Citing glaring example of irrational transfers, they said merely four teachers including headmaster are looking after the affairs of Government High School at Saroti under the jurisdiction of Moughla Education Zone in Rajouri district. "For the last many years the department has failed to provide teachers in Mathematics & Science subjects which is making difficult for our children to learn these subjects," said the villagers including Gian Chand ,Sarpanch. While interacting with local journalists, Chaman Lal, Zonal Eduction Officer (ZEO) said that a detailed report about the shortage of teachers in the schools falling under Moughla Education Zone has already been submitted in the office of CEO and action in this regard is awaited. |
