Jugal avoids Tara Chand supporters, hardens stand against Mir | | | Jammu, Aug 24: As former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand bends for not getting him isolated by the dissidents, MLC Jugal Kishore takes the opportunity to further harden his stand against incumbent PCC president G A Mir. Notwithstanding the offer by Tara Chand for accepting Jugal Kishore as leader of the dissident group, the latter is avoiding any contact with the former by putting his cards close to chest and thus keeps everybody guessing on his next move. Since Jugal is considered to be most confidential man of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Jammu and Kashmir, his actions are believed to have the blessings of the latter, who is mentor of majority of the dissidents. According to the sources in Congress circles, a handful of dissidents, who tried their best to meet Jugal Kishore Sharma on his return from a pilgrimage today, were given a slip. Led by former MLC Subash Gupta, the group of dissidents even visited residence of Jugal Kishore this morning for a meeting to forge patch-up between the two leaders (Jugal and Tara Chand) but all in vain. Avoiding a meeting, sources said that Jugal Kishore left for Katra with a message for the visiting dissidents that he would be over-busy for the next two-three days. The group of dissidents on mission patch-up was purportedly deputed by former minister Manohar Lal Sharma, who is considered to be more close to Tara Chand than Jugal Kishore, sources informed and added that this was another reason for failure of the mission. Even as target of the dissident camp is to get the maximum number of their members accommodated in PCC and district as well as block bodies, both Tara chand and Jugal Kishore they are in confrontation over the person responsible for sidelining of the group. For Tara Chand, PCC senior vice-president Sham Lal Sharma is enemy number one while Jugal Kishore feels that G A Mir is the root cause of favouritism in Congress, sources explained. |
