Pothri water gravity scheme dysfunctional 8/24/2016 10:27:50 PM Early Times Report Poonch, Aug 24: People of village Chaktroo and Pothi today held a massive protest demonstration against Public Health Engeenring (PHE) department at Parade ground park Poonch under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Insaaf Movement and under the supervision of Muhammad Rashid, joint secretary of the movement where the protectors raised slogan against the department and alleged that the officers of the department have misplaced hundreds of pipes of the Pathri water gravity scheme. During the speech after protest Rashid said the people of the village are suffering due to lack of fresh drinking water. According to the report from local Layaqat Taj Chouhan, the lift scheme sanctioned for the villagers has been totally failed and people are deprived for the drops of drinking water. Rashid allegedly said that the district and block level officers are embezzling the fund for the restoration of lift scheme and have also disappeared the pipes of Pathri gravity scheme. He appealed the state government especially chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene the matter personally and do the people's needful. Layaqat Taj said the lift scheme has two stages, one of which is opened after completing ten years long period. He alleged that they have approached many a time to the higher authorities, but no positive results sought out. He also demands for inquiry of this matter as early as possible.
