TT tourney organized 8/25/2016 11:16:57 PM Early Times Report Poonch, Aug 25: Alfa TT club Poonch in collaboration of Nanak Academy Purani Poonch organized a Table Tennis Tournament today. The final matches of junior, under 14 and under 19 groups were played here in the presence of Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Jahangir Hussain Mir who was chief guest on the occasion. Pratham Sharma, Faisal Mir and Neeraj won the final respectively in the above mentioned groups. While interacting with the players the chief guest said that the sports and other co-curricular activities played a vital role in the development of health and social character of a sportsman. He said that alongside the studies the sports activities are very important for the maintenance of health and hygiene conditions. He said a sportsman is never a lazy person and he can never think of evil habits like drugs. He always remains fit by involving himself in the sports. He stressed upon the youths involved in drugs to join sports, track and field and athletics and shun the bad habits of drugs as the drugs are the main source of all evils prevailing in today's society. The chief guest applauded the efforts of Nariender Singh Manager Alfa TT Club for the upliftment of said sport in district Poonch. He said that the manager is an inspiration for the youths of Poonch and for the whole state for uplifting and developing the said sport without any government aid at his own level. He said that the coaching for the said sports is being provided to the youngsters by the club. The trophies to the winners and the runners up were awarded by the chief guest. Among others present on the occasion were principal Girls HSS Poonch Nariender Mohan, manager Nanak Academy Gurbhakhash Singh and other physical education masters from Youth sports service department.
