Early Times Report
Poonch, Aug 30: Illegal construction are continuing unabated on forest land in Mendhar Tehsil by some influential persons who by fake mutation have grabbed the forest land, sources said.
Mohd Sadiq S/o Mohd Zaman of Pathana Teer along with several others have constructed residential houses in compartment No.170 under Khasra No.41 in Pathana Teer Village by making a fake Girdawari of Khasra No.88 with the unholy nexus of revenue officials including the concerned Patwari of Pathana Teer, sources said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Early Times had carried a news report following which authorities transferred the guard of the beat of forest compartment. But with the connivance of Revenue officials some people managed to raise concrete structures there.
Tehsildar Mendhar Shahbaz Khan directed his Deputy to constitute a team and demarcate the forest land afresh on the directions of SDM Thakur Sher Singh.
A team of forest guards along with revenue officials went on the spot where concerned Patwari Bader Din expressed his reluctance in demarcating the land, sources said, adding the locals expressed anger on the attitude of Patwari for his lackadaisical approach.
Meanwhile Range Officer MB Malik while talking to Early Times said that the land encroached by the above said person belongs to Forest Department and no one is allowed to grab it. "The occupied land will be retrieved and we will seek the help of police", he added.
The locals of the area expressed their strong resentment against the Revenue Department Officials which were hand in glove with the grabbers who by making fake Girdawari converted the Khasra No. 41 land into Khasra No.88 and constructed residential houses on it. They appealed the concerned authorities to take strict action against them as they were looting the green gold of state as well.
