JAMMU, Aug 30: Defying the diktats of separatists and ultras members of a particular community in Kashmir have rejected to support any strike or bandh call given by separatists and ultras for so called Azadi saying that Kashmir had got freedom in1947.
According to sources recently during a bandh in Valley when some anti social elements tried to block the road in a village in south Kashmir the inhabitants of village came out on streets lifted the road blockade and warned the handful of miscreants not to create tension in the area.
The leaders of the village according to eye witnesses have been heard saying to miscreants ``we got freedom in 1947 from autocratic rule and what more freedom we need now''., ``We are the part of an independent and democratic country where we can enjoy our rights with honour and dignity what else we need now'', these leaders told the handful of the miscreants forcing the people to observe bandh and enforce the road blockade in the area.
According to eyewitness the leaders warned that entire village and surrounding villages will come to streets to defy the bandh call and protest against separatists and ultras who are responsible for the huge destruction and damage which the State suffered in last 27 years.
Sources said that many communities which form a sizable part of Kashmir's population are up in arms against the separatists and anti social elements who have brought the Kashmir to the path of destruction and devastation for their vested interests.
Sources said the members of the community said that the self styled group of leaders in Kashmir exploiting the people for their own interests at the cost of common Kashmiri. ``They use young children as shields. They are cowards," said a member of the community.
``Due to the past 27 years of turmoil the Kashmir has not witnessed the progress and development. Many school buildings, bridges, hospitals and other infrastructure was either burnt or destroyed by the protagonists of so called Azadi-seekers," he said, adding though this infrastructure was rebuilt by successive political governments after 1996 again under a big conspiracy entire structure is being damaged.
The people of Kashmir can't be mute spectators to their destruction and tolerate the highhandedness of handful of people claiming themselves to the leaders of Kashmir.
It is high time for the saner elements from all the communities in Kashmir to take a stand against the people spelling doom and save Kashmir from further destruction and devastation.
