DSS organizes public meet | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 31: Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K organized a public meet at Khour zone under the chairmanship of their President Sukhdev Singh. On the very outset they expressed their solidarity with the people of Kashmir who are undergoing the turmoil let loose by anti-national elements. They also registered their gratitude to the central Government for increase in the amount of compensation to the person killed in firing at the LoC. They looked forward for a special recruitment drive in the border area including Khour division in the para military forces as also the people living there be brought in ALC categories. Some members projected for getting their compensation for the land occupied by the Army during 1999. It was also brought out that the vacancies of Dogri teachers and lecturers are lying vacant and need to be filled. Even after a lapse of many months the new ration cards have not been issued even after completing all formalities; which was causing hardship to public, especially those BPL. The Numberdars and Chowkidars demanded that their salary be raised to Rs 4500. It was also projected to install a statue of Maharaja Hari Singhji in the Main Bazar at Khaur and his birthday on 23rd September be observed as a holiday. |
