Elderly woman among two bodies fished out today | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept10: Police today fished out two bodies including one of an elderly woman whose body was found floating in Ranbir Canal under mysterious circumstances under the jurisdiction of Domana police station while a body of a youth was fished out today from Tawi river in Sidhra locality. Police sources said that the body of an elderly woman namely Nirmal Devi (75) wife of Madan Lal of Purkhoo Camp was found floating in the Ranbir Canal. "Some passersby noticed a body of a woman floating in the Ranbir Canal and after getting the information police reached the spot and fished out the body, police sources said. Later, the body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for post-mortem but the family members of the deceased approached the District Magistrate seeking exemption of the post-mortem and the authorities approved the request. However, police had initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain exact reasons behind the death. Meanwhile, Police also traced the body of a youth identified as Gulshan Kumar son of Badar Ram of Kotli RS Pura which was fished out from river at Sidhra area. Police sources said that Gulshan drowned in the river on Friday when he accidently slipped into deep water while taking bath during a religious function at Baba Pedh Devta. |
