| Shame! Mantris, babus coerce Govt employees to work as domestic helps | | | Akshay Azad

Jammu, Sept 10: Being in opposition both the coalition parties, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) as well as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were always up in arms against the former coalition government, for alleged misuse of power but after coming to power, they also are engaged in such activities, like engaging government employees at their residence for domestic chores and other works.
There are reports that many government employees working in various departments are engaged by Ministers of their departments and despite having full knowledge of the matter, none dare to disengage these employees, even the Head of the departments refrains from asking the employees to work in the department rather than working in the house of ministers or babus.
Sources said that a BJP Minister from Jammu has got several employees of concerning department, attached with her and the Head of the institution, on whose instructions employees had started working in the house of Minister, done it to remain in good books of the Minister. "Even costly gifts are also offered by many Head of the institutions to the Minister for getting prize postings and other benefits", sources said, adding that all such activities have been going on for the last many months and senior leaders of BJP were aware of the matter but failed to take any disciplinary action.
Moreover, another employee from another institution has been working in the house of one of the babu for the last more than one year. "The class-IV employee was deputed by the then Head of the department to remain in good books of the babu, who in return had also benefited the head by giving him prize posting", sources said, adding that same Class-IV employees has also been transferred to Kashmir valley, along with the babu, with secretariat move employees.
The salary of these employees is being drawn from their respective institutions but in reality, they have been working with the babus and ministers.
Moreover, another minister of BJP has also got many employees of his concerning departments attached in his house for doing some domestic chores. "The attached employees have to do all the domestic chores, instructed by families of the Ministers of the bureaucrats", sources said, adding that even some employees had also reported to their seniors to get them repatriated to their place of posting but due to strong instructions from the minister, the senior officials were reluctant to do so.
The Chief Minister should seek an explanation from all the ministers and babus and take appropriate action against them. |
