| Police ignores Tehsildar's directions | | | M S Nazki

Poonch, Sept 10: Yet another case of high handedness of police has come to fore in Gohlad area of Mendhar where the directions of Tehsildar were not honoured by the SHO sources said here today.
Some locals had encroached the state land belonging to the Govt school in Mohalla Khakram in Gohlad area of Mendhar Tehsil falling under Khasra No. 552 and they had been able to construct concrete houses on it. The people and civil socieity members had complained in the court of law where the High Court had directed to demolish the construction raised on the said govt land and the high court order was implemented letter and spirit by the concerned authorities headed by Tehsildar Mendhar Shahzad Khan and SDPO Shahid Naeem. Sources said one local of the area identified as Mohd Nazir alias Babu Khan S/o Mohd Zaman of Gohlad has started again the construction of house on the said land. Some people of the area inforemd the tehsildar Mendhar Shahzad Khan about it and he without wasting any time shot a letter to SHO Gohlad vide No. OQ/1033 dated 7/9/2016 to register FIR against the accused constructing illegal hosue on Govt land. Source said SHO Gohlad instead taking some action he ignored the Tehsildar's directions and sent ASI Ashiq Shah to find the facts. The concerned Patwari told the ASI that there was no new construction going on but the person against whom the complaint has been lodged was infact reparing his old house. It is pertient to mention here that a Tehsildar's letter keeps no mass while as police believed the theory of a revenue official. No one can say that there was no nexus between the police, revenue officials and the land encroachers. |
