| 2 held with 80 poly pouches of liquor | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10: Two bootleggers were arrested with 80 pouches of illicit liquor in separate incidents in Katra area.
Polic spokesman said that a Police team headed by Inspector Arvind Samyal, SHO Katra acting on a specific input, laid a special naka near Dheerti Jhajjar and during checking/frisking, the Police team succeeded in recovery of 40 Poly Pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K excise liquor from the possession of Anil Kumar son of Somi Raj of Kundi Tehsil Charala District Doda who was on way towards Katra from Jammu side by foot. The accused person has been arrested and recovered poly pouches of liquor have been seized. In this connection a case under FIR No. 164/2016 under section 48-A Excise Act, 188 ofRPC has been registered at Katra police station and investigation of the case is in progress.
Meanwhile, acting on a specific input, the police team of Katra has also been succeeded in recovery of 40 Poly Pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K excise liquor from the possession of Ghirdhari Lal son of Shanker Dass of Dheerti Tehsil Katra District Reasi during the special naka at Near Dheerti Jajjar who was on way towards Katra from Udhampur side by foot. The accused person has been arrested and recovered poly pouches of liquor have been seized in this connection a case under FIR No. 165/2016 under section 48-A Excise Act, 188 of RPC has been registered at Katra police station and investigation of the case is in progress.
Both the recoveries were made under the supervision of Dr. Ashok Kumar, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Addl. SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi. |
