Jammu, Sept 11: Preparedness to celebrate birth anniversary of Dogra ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh was finalized here at Sainik Farms, in Sainik Colony on Sunday. According to press release people from Chowadi, Channi himmat, Kunjwania and Greater Kailash participated in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that 23rd of September should be declared as public holiday to show a mark of respect to the great ruler. The participants said that Maharaja Hari Singh was a great ruler of princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. "He made primary education compulsory in the state, introduced laws prohibiting child marriage and opened places of worship to the low castes", they added. It was also decided by people that Jammu airport and Jammu university to be named after Maharaja Hari Singh in his honour. This day should be celebrated with full enthusiasm to pay tribute and remember our great ruler. Master Anand Khajuria, S.S.
