| Fed up over estranged relations with husband, woman attempts suicide | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 11: A woman who has allegedly estranged relations with her husband jumped into the river Chinab at AKhnoor to commit suicide but was saved by youth who were taking bath in the river.
Police sources said that woman identified as Bandana Devi (23) wife of Surinder Singh of ward no. 4 Khour jumped in the River Chenab at Namander Akhnoor.
Police sources further said that some local youth who were taking bath in the river spotted her activity and immediately rescued her.
Police officials said that the woman stated that she got married with Surinder Kumar around one year ago. Quoting the woman, police official said that she has estranged relations with her husband who is auto driver. Police further said that the woman satted that her husband used to harass her regularly. Police said that they handed over the woman to her parents and husband of the woman has been called by police for investigation. |
