2 notorious burglars held, stolen property recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 11: Bakshi Nagar Police has added more feathers in its cap by arresting two burglars and solving two burglaries one within 36 hours of commission of crime. SSP Jammu, Sunil Gupta while addressing media persons said a major success was achieved by the Bakshi Nagar police by apprehending two notorious burglars with the help of CCTV camera footage, thereby, solving many sensational theft cases of temples and houses in Jammu City. SSP Jammu further said that a special team headed by SI Kali Charon in-charge police post Sarwal under the Supervision of Inspector Ashwani Sharma SHO Bakshi Nagar and SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra apprehended a notorious a notorious thief namely Sunil Kumar alias Gorkha son of Rishi Raj Khatri of Vill. Allapur, Panchayat Akbarpur, Teh. & Distt. Alwar Rajasthan was also arrested by the said team within 36 hours of the theft with the help of CCTV footage and cash worth Rs. 6140 was recovered along with tool of offence. "Gorkha has also admitted to have committed several thefts in temples all over the city. He is committing thefts in city since two and half years", said SSP Jammu adding that the investigations are going on in both cases and more arrests and recoveries are likely to be made. Meanwhile, thief namely Mehraj Din alias Javed son of Mohd. Ramzan of Gudekra Teh. Gandoh, Distt. Doda, who had committed a broad day light burglary in the house at Rehari Colony and had decamped golden ornarnents and cash in the month of May 2016 was also arrested by the team. On disclosure of the said accused, stolen property was recovered along with tool of offence, added SSP Jammu. The said operation was conducted under the direct supervision of SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar and under the command of Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu. Pertinently, a special drive against thieves, burglars and chain snatchers had been launched under the directions of Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu and under this operation, systematic effort is made to build integrated data base regarding thefts and burglaries in Distt. Jammu. |
