REASI, Sept 11: Inter-district divisional level fencing (boys and girls all age groups) competition, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), started here today.
The three-day event was declared open by District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar who was chief guest. Over 200 student fencers drawn from five districts of Jammu Division, Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Ramban and hosts Reasi shall compete for the top honours, a handout issued by the DYSS here today informed.
The inaugural function also witnessed colourful cultural programme presented by the students.
Joint Secretary of J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma was guest of honour.
Besides others the opening function was attended by fencing coach of the State Sports Council, Shotu Lal, Headmaster HS Kambal Danga, Romail Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Om Parkash, Manohar Lal and Jasbir Singh, Ajay Billa, Ashok Katal and Anil Sharma.
