Address our issues: AMEAK to Govt | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 27: Making an appeal to state government that it must address their issues without any further delay, All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir once again urged upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh to intervene personally in the matters of package and non package employees so that an amicable solution could be find out to their problems. Expressing dissatisfaction over the government attitude towards their plight, these employees said that they have been on peaceful protest for last 76 days in support of their demands but unfortunately government seems not serious to resolve their issues. Accusing administration of pressuring employees to join their duties despite knowing that they are on protest, the employees said that many of the employees have been asked by their respective heads that their salaries would be stopped by September onwards in case they failed to attend offices. The employees called such decision as very unkind and discriminatory. "We are facing lot of complicated problems in serving valley away from our homes. We have lost every peace of mind and are under severe stress," said number of employees on the protest. They said that the employment under PM's package was provided keeping in view the urge and need of migrant youth but it does not mean that they should be deprived from all rights. They asked the government to show seriousness in mitigating the sufferings of protesting employees who are pinning high hopes from the present dispensation. They also urged upon the state government that no pressure tactics should be adopted on protesting employees in any kind of circumstances. Hundreds of employees under the banner of AMEAK were seeking justice to their many issues which including their prime demand of adjustment in camp offices at Jammu till a comprehensive policy on return and rehabilitation of migrants will be discussed and framed by the government. Number of employee leaders where speaking on the occasion threw light on various problems being faced by the employees since their appointment in valley and also the inefficiency of the successive governments to address them on time. They blamed the governments for their present miseries and plight. |
