Kashmiri primer in devnagri script released | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 27: A book releasing function organized at Sanaskar Bhawan, Roop Nagar and Jammu on Tuesday in which a book of Kashmiri primer in devnagri script, authored by Arvind Shah and Bushan Lal Kaul "Deep" was released. According to press release, Prof Mohan Lal Sa, a prominent Linguist and Kashmiri language expert has provided his advice as a consultant. Speaking to the galaxy of the gathering, the chief guest of the occasion, Dr. K L Chowdhary, a renowned author, critic, short story writer and poet said that the spoken language has become more important than the text language now-a-days. While appreciating the efforts of the authors, he cited many examples of patients conveying their sickness effectively through Kashmiri language. He gave examples of such expressions which cannot be conveyed in any other language. "However he opinioned that there are enormous problems confronting the community to carry on with Kashmiri language when the youth is disbursed throughout the world and is disconnected with community living", said Chudhary. Vijay Bakaya, former chief secretary of J & K State and Ex- MLC, who presided over the function said that mother tongue is better learnt through word of mouth and by communicating in mother tongue. Ramesh Hangloo, (Dr.) R L Bhat, P N Shad and Bal Krishen Sanyasi also spoke on the occasion and shared their rich experiences about the propagation of Kashmiri language. The book expresses the phonetic sounds of the language through illustrations. The illustrations are eye catching and picked up from the daily life surroundings which one, relates to, easily. The book carries Hindi and English translations of the Kashmiri words. In addition to the main objective of addressing the phonetics of Kashmiri language simple vocabulary lessons are given. There are some communication sentences of simple and day to day nature. |
