Pak troops violate ceasefire to keep their chin up
10/4/2016 10:11:15 PM
In a bid to save its face, Pakistani troops have embarked on ceasefire violations on the border. And during the last three days it is sometime Akhnoor and the other time it is poonch where the Pakistani troops to attack border outposts. The Pak gunners remain silent whenever the Indian troops retaliate with fury and force. This scene continues and there does not seem to be any chance for seeking the level of violence getting reduced in Kashmir though after the surgical operation small traders have defied calls given for shuitdown by the separatists. Though the task of the troops and the has not been completed yet still the Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said the Indian Army is giving a "befitting reply" to the terrorists as well as to continuous ceasefire violations along the Line of Control. The Indian soldiers BSF are giving a befitting reply, Singh has said in reaction to Sunday night's attack on a Border Security Force (BSF) picket and 46 RR camp in Baramulla town of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as continuous ceasefire violations along the Line of Control. Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in Shahpur and Saujian sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch on Monday. On Sunday night, the Pakistan Army targeted the Kranti post at 1 am and the firing continued till 1.45 am. Another ceasefire violation by Pakistan was reported at Saujian sector of Poonch. The firing here started at11.20 am.Heavy mortar shelling and firing were reported from the Pakistani side. The fresh attack was reported after terrorists attacked a camp of the 46 Rashtriya Rifles in Baramulla late on Sunday night, in which a BSF jawan was killed. The terrorists, whose number is unknown, tried to enter the camp through a public park near it, but failed to breach the security. Earlier, Pakistan targeted Indian posts along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor and Khour tehsil on Sunday evening. Pakistan has stepped up cross-border firing after the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir
Rajnath made the remarks after reaching Leh on his two-day visit to Ladakh as part of the Centre's efforts to bring normalcy in Jammu and KashmirThe visit comes as tension escalated along the Line of Control and the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes at seven terror launch pads on September 29 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).Singh said he would meet a delegation from Ladakh people and listen to their problems. "I will try to resolve their problems," Singh added. Earlier, 19 soldiers were martyred in the September 18 terror attack at an army camp in Uri town of north Kashmir. These ceasefire violations are being resorted to simply to show to the separatists in Kashmir and the terrorists that they should keep their chin up as the Pakistani gunners have not dropped the guns. But strengthening of the security grid on the border could help the Indian troops to foil ingress bids which is key to peace in Kashmir.
