Labels people as agents, gets them killed, then condemns! | Geelani, terrorists playing dirty game | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 4: After labeling mainstream politicians and workers of political parties as "Mukhbirs" and asking people to boycott them, the Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani has suddenly taken a U-turn by condemning the killing of a National Conference worker by terrorists in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Geelani, who during the ongoing unrest described the mainstream politicians and their supporters as "biggest enemies" of Kashmiris and instigated the miscreants to attack their houses, and make them join the protest after the killing of NC activist Fayaz Ahmed, issued a statement terming his killing as "Un-Islamic and inhuman." A Kashmir watcher while reacting to Geelani's statement said, "Just one month ago Geelani issued a statement asking the mainstream politicians and their supporters to quit their respective parties and join the protestor face the consequences. Geelani threatening them was an indication of the fact that they would become the soft targets in coming days. It's strange first he (Geelani) asks terrorists to kill people and then he condemns it." He said, "It has been happening in Kashmir for the past 26-years. Separatists first label the people, get them killed and then condemn it." Recalling nineties, the Kashmir watcher said, "Present situation in Kashmir is a reminiscent of nineties. Kashmir witnessed large scale killings during that period as JKLF and Hizbul terrorists fought with each other to establish their writ and supremacy. The JKLF terrorists who managed to save their lives either laid down their arms or joined the counter-insurgency group which reportedly targeted the hardliners, who were instrumental in labeling people as Mukhbirs." He said, "The ongoing unrest has pushed Kashmir into quagmire of uncertainty. Once again a few hardliners are calling the shots. Anyone who tried to raise his or her voice against the ongoing anarchy in Kashmir is being threatened and labeled as agent. Kashmir seems to be standing at the verge of witnessing yet another civil war with every possibility of someone donning the shoes of counter-insurgents and taking on the hardliners who have taken Kashmir as hostage." An analyst said, "Separatists and Pakistani agents are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that uncertainty keeps on prevailing in Kashmir and blood keeps on flowing. It hardly matters whose blood flows. The blood should keep on flowing. After turning youth into canon-fodder now they (separatists ) have identified the political workers as the targets. They are playing dirty politics and they will pay for it." |
