NC opposes UT for ladakh 10/4/2016 10:54:10 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 4 : National Conference has openly come out against granting of union territory status to the Ladakh region. The party, which has its shrinking base limited to the Kashmir region, is being accused by the people of the Ladakh region for the continuous neglect and backwardness. The NC had on on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to its, Sonam Wangdus, party's Leh district president. Sonam in a memorandum submitted to the home minister had demanded UT status for the Ladakh region. NC feels it's an anti-party act and as the party assumes that it stands for the unity of the state, though with the domination of the Kashmir region. NC doesn't have a single elected MLA from the Ladakh region , both Leh and Kargil. The party which is being run on the whims and fancies of the Omar Abdullah seems to have lost the plot and in sheer act of desperation is not even allowing its local leaders to air their, which many feel could backfire for it. ":Former Cong minister Sham Lal Sharma had always raised voice against the domination of the Kashmir and had even called for Hindu chief minister. Was he issued showed cause notice by his party. Even former PDP MLA Peerzada Mansoor had opposed the call for the hindu CM, was he issued show cause notice? If reflects the mindset of the party controlled by the Omar Abdullah and his aides," said a senior NC leader.' NC had always had pursued alleged anti-LAdakh policies and many people believe that the party to have grip over the Ladakh first divided it in two district with distinct religious card and it never supported the demands of the people of the Ladakh. "NC always subjugated the Ladakh region. It is happy to patronize the region and can't even allow it to air its view before highest authority .
