Doda, Oct 4: A two day long awareness campaign was inaugurated by Anil Singh Charak Tehsildar, Assar today at Govt. Higher Secondary school, Assar (Doda) being organised by the Directorate of Field Publicity, (DFP) Ministry of Information &Broadcasting (GOI), units Doda and Anantnag. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness among rural masses on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A)in high priority identified districts of J&K state. In addition to RMNCH+A schemes, special focus is also given to create awareness on Population stabilization, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Indradhanush (ill effects of Seven Vaccine Preventable diseases namely Diphtheria, Pertusis, Tetanus, Childhood tuberculosis, Polio, Hepatitis B and Measles) Anaemia among adolescent girls, Kala Azar, Malaria, Leprosy, Dengue, Filarisis. BDO Assar Irshad Ahmed Sheikh, Dr. Touseef, Dr. Shehnaz and Dr. Mohd Naseem were prominent among others who spoke on the occasion. All the speakers laid stress upon educating rural masses about the importance of preventing different diseases and leading a healthy life. The Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, health workers, teachers, students, sarpanches, panches and other opinion leaders present in the audience were made aware about the importance and urgency of reaching the benefits of various schemes of Government of India to the grass root level. Madan Gopal incharge DFP Unit Doda, in his address informed the audience that Doda is one of the six in J&K and 182 districts in India with high priority of said diseases. He added that Directorate of Field Publicity is going to organize six programmes in six identified districts viz. Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch, Rajouri and Leh in the month of October 2016 in Phase-I related to above mentioned schemes. He motivated the people to help common masses in understanding and coming forward for fighting against various diseases. |
