Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 4: Reserved Categories Socio-religious Organisations & Retired Employees Forums warned that if social harmony, tranquility and Peace of Jammu region get disturb in near future, the responsibility shall be of majority community of Jammu region.
Addressing media persons, Sham Lal Bassan, President Dalit Chetan Manch, Mohinder Bhagat, All India Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Chapter, MLBanali, General Secretary, All J&K Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha and others told that masses belonging to reserved categories held a peaceful rally at Samba on September 24 to press for their constitutional rights after taking due permission from the local administration.
But unfortunately few miscreants belonging to majority community and belonging to a political outfit tried to disrupt the otherwise peaceful rally by sloganeering that how masses belongs minority can organize a rally in Samba.
"In the event they thrashed many participants of the rally, used vulgar language in front of ladies in the rally and even broke window panes of few vehicles carrying people in the rally. They tried their best to create disturbances and clashes but seniors in the rally controlled the situation and strictly asked their people not to retaliate and show constraints, "They said.
They further said that the complaint against miscreants was lodges with the concerned SHO of Samba police station at that movement only but the concerned SHO entertained the false, frivolous and baseless complaint of the miscreant and lodged an FIR against few people in the rally who in fact tried to cool down the atmosphere. From the actions & attitude of the SHO Samba, it appears as if he is hell bent upon damaging reserved categories and supporting majority community.
"The reservation issues can be debated with cool minds on relevant platforms for which we through open challenge to upper caste to let us debate. For the knowledge of common masses it is informed that out of 4.8 lac employees in J&K up to the level of Deputy Secretary there are approximately 17500 (3.5%) belonging to SC communities against their quota of 8% and 34000 (6.5%) ST employees against their quota of 10%, the situation of ALC & RBA categories is also grim. The false claim of upper castes that reserved categories have eaten everything can be well gauzed from this data, "they also said.
Unanimously it has been stressed upon the Chief Minister Mehabboba Mufti to intervene into this very sensitive and serious matter and advise Chief Secretary to implement the Apex Court order of stay of DB order of J&K High Court. She is also requested to immediately call meeting of Enforcement Borad on monitoring & implementation of reservation in J&K.
