LoC Health centres face shortage of medicines | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Oct 3: Health centers situated near Line of Control in this frontier district are facing acute shortage of medicines and life saving drugs. Sources said the Pubic Health centres (PHCs) situated in the areas falling close to the LoC including Mendhar, Balakote, Mankote, Mandi, Shahpur and Poonch face acute shortage of medicines and other essentials. These health centres play a vital role in providing first aid facilities during the shelling across the border to injured, they added. They said the required medicines, ambulances and other medical facilities should be available round the clock in these health centres to help the victims in case of an emergency as tensions between India and Pakistan armies are escalating with each passing day. When contacted Sub Divisional magistrate (SDM) Mendhar, Thakur Sher Singh told Early Times that measures were afoot to stock the medicines and other allied essentials stores with abundance. I have already discussed the situation with the district administration, the SDM added. Meanwhile Chairman Youth Club Mendhar Advocate Nadeem Khan urged the district administration and concerned Ministers to take stock of the situation and take measures to ensure required supply of medicines and other essentials in the district keeping in view the prevailing situation on the borders, Khan added. |
