IT Deptt makes record collection of Rs 224.52 Crore as Income Tax Employees demand promotion of PCIT and Jt Com 10/4/2016 11:40:05 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: Appreciating the sincere efforts of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (PCIT) , J&K, Sangeeta Gupta and others, the Income Tax office Jammu has emerged as the leader among other States of North West Region with 611 assesses declaring Rs 224.52 Crore as total amount of income under the Income Declaration Scheme-2016. According to a press statement issued from Income Tax Union President, this remarkable scheme has not only achieved the targets but even exceeded the revised targets given by the Ministry of Finance. Demanding that the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Sangeeta Gupta must be promoted to next rank as Chief Commissioner at an earliest, the statement said, adding, "she adopted all out efforts to achieve the targets. Apart from this the statement demanded the promotion of Joint Commissioner S KSharma who also had played a vital role in achieving the targets. "The efforts of Sharma and his colleagues were highly appreciated and an appeal has been made to promote Sharma as a matter of appreciation to his hard work," the statement said. IT employees have also sent a letter to Delhi demanding Principal Commissioner's promotion on urgent basis, to take the department on new heights. Meanwhile Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Sangeeta Gupta has expressed her gratitude to all the stake holders including the assessees of the State, Tax Professionals, Chartered Accountants, Advocates, and representatives of Jewellers' Associations and others who inspite of the prevailing unrest have not only extended their full cooperation for the scheme but also have made up the shortfall from the large part of the state comprising Kashmir Division. She also had thanked the print and electronic media for providing wide coverage to the awareness campaign launched by the department and the employees of department for conveying and convincing the assesses of the State. "J&K has secured top slot among the other States of North West Region comprising economically much better stations like Amritsar, Jallandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda and Chandigarh of Punjab and other stations from Himachal Pradesh and Haryana which are controlled from Chandigarh, Sangeeta Gupta Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K had stated.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
