JAMMU, Nov 13-A National Lok Adalat was organized by Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu, Sanjay Gupta at District Complex Jammu. Nearly, 20 benches were constituted during the Lok Adalat which took up 7365 cases, of which, 6307 cases were disposed off. Meanwhile, about 166 bank cases were taken up in pre lok adalat sessions where a recovery of Rs. 99 lakh was made while 66 bank cases were settled in national lok adalat and an amount of Rs.60014479 was recovered. Besides, 117 MACT cases were taken up out of which 90 were settled and an amount of Rs.30474000 was realized as compensation.
In labour disputes, 16 cases were taken up out of which seven cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs.540457 was awarded. In criminal compound cases, Rs.529200 were recovered as fine. In other cases of railway offences, ARTO cases, civil defence complains, consumer cases, 36 police act, caveats, COPTA and related cases a fine of Rs.393024 was realized. |
