High on rhetoric, Industry Minister runs after publicity | Samba craves for kerosene | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: The Minister for Industries and Commerce has reportedly been running only for publicity in various media platforms but has forgotten the grievances of public, one of which is stopped kerosene supply in Samba for the last few months. Pertinently, the previous day, Minister had inaugurated various works under Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives taken by United Phosphorous Limited at Vijaypur and Ramgarh and it was given wide publicity in various media platforms. "Time and again, Minister presence is seen in newspapers and in official functions along with senior officials of District Administration Samba but he is ignorant about the real issues of people living in rural and border belt of district Samba", Ranjeet Sambyal of Samba said. He further says that majority area of district is rural or border belt and people have required kerosene oil for cooking purposes or for light as power curtailments and dim supply are some realities of these areas. "It is sheer political vendetta being perpetrated by Industry Minister as majority of kerosene oil depot holders are works of other party and to bring them into party fold, earlier on instructions of Minister an order was issued for giving more licenses of Kerosene oil dept", an official alleged, adding that when this move on behalf of Minister failed to satisfy his nefarious designs, he ultimately with the help of District Development Commissioner got stopped the kerosene oil supply in the district. Even the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department is ready to disburse supply of kerosene in the area as per previous criteria but DDC is adamant to give relief to the public, only for remaining in good books of minister, sources alleged. |
