Students opt for exams, flout Geelani's writ | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 13: The government especially the education department is probably having a last laugh as about 98 percent students appearing for the class 10th and 12th exams have collected their admit cards and 80 percent students have decided to appear in the exams with curtailed syllabus. "We knew all along that this propaganda of the separatists and their handlers across the border stating the Kashmir Azadi first then the exams is going to fail. We have seen many such protests and also know the separatists deep inside their skin. The ordinary Kashmiri , like other parents across the country, can't afford to skip one crucial year of their kids, on flimsy ground. And ,. It has been proved quite roundly and categorically," said a senior official. The government had given the option to either appear in the November session with the curtailed syllabus or in the March session with the full. About 80 percent students have opted for the curtailed syllabus. "This clearly exposes the fabricated, manufactured narrative that giving students the option to appear in the curtailed exams will ruin their careers, as they will not have completed the full syllabus so will not be able to compete in the professional exams. Now, if that was so then why only 20 percent opted to appear in the complete syllabus option. It clearly reveals that most of the students don't want to take chance as they wary of the separatists and want to take exams and then focus on the professional exams," said senior official, posted in the examination department. The sources said that this number has also come as a shock for the separatists a more so the SAS Geelani, who had been even saying that students are carrying placards for the Azadi and therefore they are more interested in the continuation of the strike than the exams. "Even Geelani couldn't have anticipated that his writ is being not only being challenged but blatantly flouted by the same teenage boys whom he was using as canon fodder to appease his bosses. It's an eye-opener and could well make separatists irrelevant in the Valley," said the official. |
