TGJK demands streamline salary of teaching professionals under SSA, RMSA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: An urgent meeting of Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir was held today at its head quarter Circular Road Jammu. The meeting was conveyed by its State General Secretary Vijay Kumar Sharma in order to discuss the burning issues of school education department especially the repeated pendency of release of salaries of the teachers, masters, headmasters working against the SSA and RMSA schemes. The meeting was chaired by its State President Nasir Ahmed Qurashi besides the representatives from all districts of Jammu province and the members of central body of TGJK attended the meeting. Healthy and detailed deliberations were held on various issues like Non-payment of salary to SSA/RMSA teachers, Adjustment of masters promoted under DPC 2014, filling up of vacant posts of Headmasters, Lecturers, Masters and teachers, Cash-in-lieu, Special allowance for teachers serving in rural areas, Pay from overall cadre for surplus teachers, masters and lecturers, Revival of selection grade for teachers, Exemption of teachers from non-teaching assignments and Transfer Policy for RET Teachers. He expressed a deep grave concern over the non-release of salary of SSA/RMSA teachers. He said that the teaching community is suffering badly in such era of high price index. He that the government should find out a permanent solution of the problem and said that the SPD SSA/RMSA should provide utilization certificates well in time to MHRD and should also achieve the riders and targets laid down by MHRD in PAB meetings. He stated that the teachers are without salary for four to six months and are being harassed mentally. The teachers are being humiliated and their children are the effected. Vijay Kumar Sharma, State General Secretary of TGJK said that it is unfortunate and un-lawful that the teachers working under SSA/RMSA have not been paid even on the important festivals like Diwali and Bhaiduj etc. He informed the participants that in most of the districts, the teachers are without salary for four to six months. They have not been paid since June 2016. He also added that inspite of relaxation of funding pattern by the Centre, the meager amount of State share is not released well in time and there is delay in submission of UCs, thus resulting in withholding of funds. He also stated that under RMSA, the PG teachers were to be appointed but the state government deployed teachers out of DPCs and posted them in RMSA schools but their salary is exceeding Rs. 27160/- per month and the excess amount being drawn is not being compensated yet. He urged the government to decide the issue of engagement of contractual PG teachers under RMSA to overcome the issue. The others, who spoke and present on the occasion, includes Mohd.
