Civil Society groups launch academic upliftment campaign for students | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Nov 13: Joint efforts of several groups formed by civil society have created conducive atmosphere extending ample opportunities to students of rural areas to enhance their academic capability for achieving their goals in different field of life. Amit Sharma, of Tripple-S informed that since the students belonging to rural areas are often deprived of facilities to enhance their academic competence which can help them compete with the students of urban areas in various fields, various civil society groups have joined hands together to provide one platform to large numbers of students of rustic areas of R. S Pura Tehsil and Jammu South for their education upliftment and overall personality development. He further informed that these groups are self funded, self sustained and voluntary group of young educated persons committed to carrying out their social responsibility beyond their personal duties. It was informed that the basic objective of this test is to provide students an opportunity for self evaluation, develop critical thinking and scientific attitude. It is the collective endeavour by the civil society groups to work with educational institutions, he said, adding that besides conducting tests, classes of students of different villages, especially of government schools are taken on regular basis after the working hours by these groups which is an act of philanthropy and welfare of young generation yearning for achieving their targets of life. While talking to Early Times ,Anil of Lok Jagriti Manch informed that students belonging to villages Messiah, Ban Sultan, Gazia, Tutre, Prem Nagar, Brij Nagar, Krishna Nagar, R.S.:Pura Pattri, Badhyal, Jasoor, Bhor Camp, Chatha and Miran Sahib appeared in today's test. Students from class 5th to Undergraduate level participated in five different groups with first group (5th-6th class),second group(7th-8th class) third group (9th-10th class), fourth group (11th-12th class) and fifth group (undergraduate). He further informed that the pattern of question paper included 80 objective type questions with four sections of General Studies , English, Mathematics and reasoning having 30,20,15,and 15 marks alongwith an essay. The students were also provided with answer keys at the end of test, he added. |
