Jammu, Nov 13: In a first-of-its-kind campaign, CII J&K State Council organised the biggest ever CII Jammu Marathon in collaboration with the BDSI. Senior CII industry members extended their support to the initiative aimed to promote the spirit of sportsmanship. The theme for the marathon is 'Run for India, Run for Pride'. The Jammu City has experienced the biggest ever marathon extravaganza to show the love and pride towards the nation. CII in collaboration with BDSI has organized 6th CII Jammu Marathon "Run for India! Run for Pride". This marathon was a tribute to showcase the love and respect for soldiers who sacrifice their life to protect their motherland. The marathon started early at 0800 hrs on November 13 at MA Stadium where key dignitaries had flagged off the runners. Sheikh Imran, Chairman of CII J&K State Council said, "It is the first time when the industry is contributing in such a big way for a common cause to celebrate the pride of being an Indian. The industry needs to work together to elevate our state on global platforms," he added. Rahul Sahai, Vice Chairman, CII J&K, said, "It is natural for the industry to support such an initiative. After all, the nation comes first. Since the whole nation and the world have been talking about J&K for obvious reasons, it is very important that a campaign of such a level was to be initiated from here. We see youth of our state so excited about this campaign and supporting it wholeheartedly and we feel that the future of our country is in the right hands." Thousands of people had participated in the marathon along with the participation from Forest Protection Force, CRPF, JK Police and BSF "Names like Reliance Jio, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital, Kilter Juices, J&K Bank, Aries Agro, Kehwah Group, Sahai Group, Fenesta , 92.7 BigFM, Jammulinks News, U4U Voice, ServicesMojo, Utsav Banquet, Aagam Food Industries, Spice Food court, Master cables, Monika super market, Get Set Go and Save first have joined hands to support the initiative. |
