Thathri people suffer due to shortage of docs | | | Early Times Report Doda, Nov 13: People of the far-flung areas of Thathari in Doda district continue to suffer due to the alleged shortage of doctors in the sub-district hospital (SDH) here. When asked about the medical facility in the hospital, a patient said they were suffering a lot due to the alleged shortage of doctors. Trauma centre had also lost all its relevance, he alleged. When contacted, Block Medical Officer, Dr Sat Pal said only three doctors were working in the hospital against the sanctioned posts of 18 doctors. The people of Thathri, Phagsoo, Chiralla, Kahara, Drabshala and Kandhote have expressed their resentment over the shortage of doctors. The BMO said though the matter had been taken up with the authorities concerned several times, any action was yet awaited. Due to the scarcity of medicos in the SDH, people are forced to either visit private clinics or hospitals of Doda or Kishtwar. People have warned to hold protests in case the requisite number of doctors are not posted in the SDH at the earliest. |
