PDP-BJP Govt neglects OBCs

Jammu, Nov 13: A One Day Convention of Other Backward Classes (OBC) was held here today at Jambolochan Hall, Jammu to discuss the issue confronting the OBCs in the state.
Former Minister & Senior Vice President PCC Sham Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest. CLP Leader N. Rigzin Jora, Former Minister and Vice President PCC Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson PCC Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Shah Mohd Choudhary, Vikram Malhotra, former Vice Chairman OBC Board Kuldeep Raj Verma, Distt. President Anil Chopra, Chairman PCC Legal Dept. K.K. Pangotra, Vice Chairman Minority Dept. PCC S. Gurdarshan Singh also attended. The convention was organized by Suresh Dogra(Advocate) and other OBC leaders which was attended by leaders/representatives of different sections of OBCs including large number of women.
Addressing the Convention Sham Lal Sharma said that the members of OBCs in the state have remained deprived of their due rights and it was the Congress party which ensured the constitution of the Advisory Board for the OBCs in the State to high light their problems at the highest level. He said that the present Govt. of PDP-BJP took about one and half years to re-constitute the OBC Board which showed their indifferent approach and lack of concern for them.
He said that OBCs and other oppressed sections were exploited by the BJP during the General Elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on various slogans but now these sections of the society feel neglected and ignored by both Centre and State Government. He said Congress party alone respects the rights of each category and sections of the society and they should strengthen congress party for their welfare and upliftment.
Nawang Rigzin Jora-CLP Leader in his address appreciated the efforts of OBCs to unite and assert for their due rights. He assured full support of the Congress party to their genuine demands and said that the Congress vehemently raised the genuine concern of the reserved categories during the last Assembly Session, however the coalition government is indifferent towards the issues of weaker sections of the society.
Raman Bhalla in his address advised the OBCs and other deprived sections to see through the pro-rich policies of Modi Govt. and unite behind Congress party which represents each and every section of the society. He said that OBCs have a major role in the service of the society and they should be provided ample opportunity for their progress in every sphere of life.
Ravinder Sharma in his address said that Congress party always advocated for the cause of downtrodden sections of the society and formulated such policies for the benefit and upliftment of deprived Sections. He said that Constitution of OBC Board would go a long way in the over all welfare of OBC in the State. He said that Congress believes in secularism which is the real strength of nation and this is the only way to strengthen the unity and integrity of the State and the nation.
