Indian troops to retaliate killing of three soldiers | | | Indian troops, guarding the LOC, have been directed to retaliate with force and fury Tuesday's mischief by Pakistan when some terrorists sneaked into the Indian territory and killed three soldiers and one body was mutilated. The very sight of the mutilated body seems to have angered the Government and the senior functionaries of the Army. And these very senior functionaries of the Army have given full freedom to the troops to avenge the killing and mutilation of three soldiers in Machil sector on the LOC. In fact the troops have been told to upgrade further the border management and find out the lapse which had been commited by allowing a group of militants to sneak into the Indian territory where they killed three soldiers. The field commanders have been told if they need additional deployment of troops that could be easily done but Pakistan has been taught a lesson. A day after three jawans were killed and a soldier's body was mutilated by terrorists in Machil sector on the Line of Control (LoC), the Army launched a massive fire assault on Pakistani posts on Wednesday morning. A fire assault was launched at 9 a.m. on the Pakistani posts in the Kel sector and downwards, according to defence sources. Reports said that the three soldiers of a counter-infiltration patrol party were ambushed and killed by terrorists in Machil sector who had infiltrated along the LoC on Tuesday. One of the soldier's body was mutilated by the terrorists who escaped with cover fire by the Pakistan Army. Following the incident, Army's Northern Command had warned in a tweet that "retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act."As the attack unfolded, Pakistan's Inter Services Public Relations claimed that Indian troops targeted a civil bus near the Neelam valley close to the LoC in which four were killed while seven injured. However, Pakistani media reports put the casualties much higher. Dawn reported 10 killed. These charges were quickly denied by Indian Army sources who said they "specifically targeted" Pak Army posts. In fact the main purpose of Pakistani forces resorting to repeated ceasefire violations was to assist groups of militants in crossing into Kashmir and help terrorists, already operating in the valley, to escalate the level of violence. Since militants have started feeling the pinch of shortage of manpower because during the last five and a half months scores of terrorists were killed and others were forced to return to Pakistan. terroristsoperating in the valley also feel the pinch of shortage of arms and ammunition besides explosives and hence these shortages are being met by pushing groups of militants from across the LOC. Hitherto, no success has been achieved because the Indian troops have foiled series of ingress bids. Reports said that Pakistani agencies, especially the Army, were preparing some border smugglers to smuggle weapons, ammunition and explosives into Kashmir. It is in this respect that Indian forces have been put on high alert lest these border smugglers should achieve any success. |
