Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: A small-time PDP activist of South Kashmir has in violation of norms got two PSOs (personal security officers) with the help of senior leaders of his party. "Even as he is a small-time political activist, some senior PDP leaders put pressure on the police headquarters (PHQ) to allot him PSOs," police sources said and added that the whole exercise was aimed at increasing his importance in a certain area of South Kashmir. He is said to be close to several senior PDP leaders. Sources said he met some senior party leaders a few days back and desired to have PSOs. When the latter spoke to the authorities concerned at the PHQ, they were asked on what ground they should allot him PSOs, the sources added. However, succumbing to the pressure of senior party functionaries, PHQ issued an order and allotted him two PSOs of armed police, sources informed, saying the two cops were asked to immediately report at his residence. "He nowadays moves around in a particular South Kashmir area, flaunting his PSOs," sources said, adding that though he did not deserve PSOs due to his small position in the party, he was allotted two in violation of the set police norms. |
