Second rung separatists approach Delhi | United Hurriyat crumbling! | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 24: A few people in Kashmir, who pretend to be separatists and their supporters, are trying to come close to the nationalist people in New Delhi to derive the benefits in the long run. The spiritual guru and the founder of the Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar addressed a one day conference 'Kashmir Back to Paradise' here on Wednesday and made it clear that "Solutions cannot be found in the streets, not with stones and guns." A spokesman of the Foundation in a statement released after the conference said that many delegations from Kashmir who met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in the recent months, like Dr Ghulam Rasool Hami, head of the JK based Karwan-I-Islami, Muzaffar Wani, father of slain Hizb commander Burhan Wani, requested him to intervene in Kashmir, given the immense goodwill, trust and confidence he enjoys among people across the political and social spectrum in Kashmir. Sources said the spokesman did not name everyone who called on the spiritual guru at his Bangalore Ashram as many people had requested that their meeting with the spiritual guru should be kept as a secret. Insiders revealed that many people in Kashmir who pretend to be the supporters of the separatists during the past four months have met different people in Delhi and have expressed dismay over the prevailing unrest in Kashmir. "But when it comes to Kashmir they attend the meetings of separatists and assure them that they are with them. They are sailing in two boats," the insider added. He said, "Many small rung leaders within the separatists are trying to become close to Delhi to seek benefits in long run. They are hoping that they would get the required financial support as the demonetization move has brought the Hawala transactions to a grinding halt." Sources said, "Double game being played by a few people in separatist camp has triggered chaos and confusion within them. Small players who are trying to gain access to power echelons in Delhi are creating a notion that they can prove to be their best bet and would help in restoring peace in Kashmir." They said, "People sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) and in Pakistan have shifted their focus on a few people and have stopped recognizing the small players. These players have been asked to follow the instructions of Malik, Geelani and Mirwaiz. This has not gone well with these small players and they are looking for an escape route. They are trying their best to fall in the lap of New Delhi to secure themselves." Its in place to mention here that people like Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Lone, Javed Mir and others have opposed the so-called joint resistance leadership and have disapproved Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's move to join hands with Geelani and Malik. |
