Sarthal Heist: FSL team collected samples, finger prints from robbed Sarthal bank | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Nov 24: A day after unidentified persons robbed the branch of Jammu and Kashmir bank Sarthal and decamped with cash worth 34.30987 lakh cash including Rs. 20.89987 lakhs of new denomination currency notes, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team today collected different samples from the bank including some finger prints from crime scene. As per the details available with Early Times, after registering an FIR No. 204/2016 at Police Station Kishtwar, Kishtwar police has intensified its probe and questioned the bank officials besides zeroing upon some suspects. Well informed sources told "Early Times" that Kishtwar police had got some vital clues and had started working on key leads. "The list of suspects too has also been prepared, they said, adding, "besides some vital clues in regard to the vehicle allegedly used to carry the stolen cash." The sources said that Police is on hunt to trace the said vehicle which left the Sarthal village on the day of robbery at in between 3.30 AM to 4 AM on Wednesday. Pertinent to mention that the local branch bank of J&K Bank was located inside private shops at Agral village of Sarthal, some 30 Kms away from district headquarters and some unidentified persons open the shutters of the bank half and sneaked inside the bank premises and decamped with the cash amounting to Rs 3430987 kept inside the 'safe box.' Sources said as per bank details the stolen cash includes Rs 1788000 of Rs 2000 denomination, 702000 of old currency of 1000 denomination, 639000 of Rs. 500, 201700 of Rs. 100 notes, one note of Rs. 50, Rs. 100000 of Rs 20, Rs 230 of Rs 10 note and one note each of Rs 5 and Rs 2 . "Police has intensified its investigations and has impressed upon all its resources and sources to apprehend the accused, they added. Here it needs to mention that in a similar robbery in 8 July 2009, robbers had robbed the chest of the Bank and looted Rs 1,06,48,000/-. Upon this report case FIR No. 99/2009 u/s 457, 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and later case was transferred to Crime Branch, Jammu vide PHQ order No. 207 of 2010 dated 16/01/2010. During the course of investigation of the case at Crime Branch, Jammu all the seven suspects were identified and interrogated/questioned thoroughly and as per the investigation conducted offences u/s 457, 380, 395, 120-B RPC were proved against the accused. |
