Schools suffer as officials violate ban on detachment to benefit favourites | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 25: In brazen violation of the orders issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) seeking ban on attachments, the Education department officials here have been attaching "influential" teachers at favorable places of posting thereby letting the schools suffer. The state government vide a GAD order no 1202 dated 27-7-2016 has banned attachments. But here many teachers allegedly enjoying influence of the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party have been attached at "favorable postings." Officials said the attachment orders have mainly been issued by the concerned Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajauri and the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Sunderbani. Officials said in Lower Hathal attachments have affected education at middle and primary schools as students complain of shortage of staff. Citing examples the official sources said teacher posted at Khumbagaran Middle School has been attached at Primary School Mallah Makool. Likewise teacher supposed to be working at Chawarian Middle School has been attached to Talliyan Primary Schoool. In another case the teacher posted at Talliyan Primary School has been attached with Patrade Primary School. Official sources around 20 such orders have been illegally issued only to favor some teachers who are in the "good books of BJP leaders" in the area. Insiders said even though the area locals have been complaining of inconvenience faced by their children at schools, the concerned authorities failed to address their problems. "We called on the concerned CEO, but he gave no convincing reply," the villagers said. When contacted the concerned CEO declined to comment on the issue. "Let you people do your job and let us do our job," the official said and dropped the phone. |
