IT deptt to scan CCTVs of jewelers, Minister worried Caught between devil and the deep sea! 11/25/2016 11:41:29 PM His wife purchased gold worth crores after demonetization Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 25: The Income Tax department asking the jewelers in Jammu city to submit their sale records, stocks and the footage of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) has reportedly sent a BJP minister into tizzy as it's believed that his wife purchased gold worth crores from jewelers after the demonetization move. Sources told Early Times the Minister is in tight spot and is looking worried as IT people would identify his wife in the CCTV footage. They said that decision to scan the CCTV footage was taken after the reports about adjustment of huge demonetized currency in the purchase of gold bars and ornaments came to fore. Nearly 300 jewelers have come under the scanner of Income Tax Department and they have been issued notices to promptly submit the record of their sales and stock as well as footage of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras installed at their respective business premises. Credible sources said that wife of the BJP minister in question had reportedly brought gold worth crores in first week of November from shops of some of the prominent jewelers of the city to adjust "hard earned" money of her "honest" husband, who claims to be a "committed and dedicated" nationalist. Credible sources said the minister had earned huge money through his "hard work" as minister in the coalition government but he had not adjusted the money. As soon as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi announced demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes, the "honest" minister was shocked. As this minister is known for this proximity with power brokers and land mafia, he immediately sought their help to adjust some of his "hard earned" money. Sources said that after getting his hard earned money adjusted through that power brokers, the minister was left with meager surplus money of a few crores which he had reportedly given to his wife to purchase ornaments for her.
