srinagar, Nov 25: A fireman in the Fire and Emergency Department is literally sitting idle in the office due to him being a close aide of a top official.
A fireman appointed in 1994, is enjoying the plum posting under the nose of Joint Director, Fire and Emergency Services Kashmir.
"Earlier the fireman was enjoying the patronage of ex-Director General of Fire and Emergency Services, as his uncle was the driver of the former DG. After his retirement, he acts as 'Sahab' in the Joint Directorate office Kashmir, as he has full support of the top officials," sources said.
"He is just a matriculate and acts as an official in the Directorate Office, while several firemen who are graduates and postgraduates are working in the field as firemen," sources added.
The Joint Director "has kept the fireman in his own office," they said. "The fireman has been posted mostly in offices given duties since his appointment. Whether in Anantnag or in Pulwama, he always worked in office or in store," sources added. |
