| Dilapidated health system of Poonch district distressing for locals, admin in slumber | | | Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, Nov 27: The system of health department in Poonch is dilapidated. According to the sources the SDH Mandi, Surankote and Mendhar are not functioning on proper ways, due go which the public is suffering a lot.
Sources said that in SDH Mendhar all the specialists are available but still the maximum patients are referred to DH Rajouri even for the minor ailment.
Sources informed early times that there is no boundary wall and people are using hospital premises and there is mushroom growth of private clinics along the boundary of the hospital and doctors are usually found practicing in their shops during working hours too.
Same in Surankote from where maximum patients are referred to DH Poonch while Surgeon, Gynalogist, Child specialist and Anestheslist are available in the SDH Surankote. Sources said it is only due to carelessness of authorities.
From Mandi tehsil same kind of reports are from there, where Surgeon is absent for one and a half years, Gynacologist often remains absent, Child specialist also remains disappeared while a physician serve his duty well.
Sources said there is no proper arrangement of facilities due to which patients compulsorily visit DH Poonch, where a large number of patients remain standing in line even for many days. Locals alleged district administration Poonch particularly District Health Authorities and said the administrations are blind towards such messes.
They appealed to health minister Bali Bhagat to intervene the matter and take strong action against concern authorities. While trying to take the official comments of CMO Poonch Niaz Ahmed in this regard, he didn't accepted reporter's call. |
