6-yrs on, cop works in executive wing | | | K Koushal Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 27: Reluctant to come out of comfort zone, an Inspector of Ministerial cadre in Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) continues to hold the post of executive wing since past six years. Moreover, despite his promotion from Sub-Inspector to Inspector in 2010, the cop did not change his approach and continues to work as SI to avoid transfer out of Jammu. According to sources, an officer of Inspector level is holding charge of executive post since past six years and continues to sign documents under the name of Sub-Inspector instead of Inspector. "The inspector in question was Sub-Inspector in Ministerial Cadre till 2011 and was promoted as Inspector Ministerial Cadre, but instead of delivering duties of Inspector, the said cop continues to work as Sub-Inspector. He even signed official document under the name and stamp of sub inspector," said sources, adding that he is afraid to work as Inspector as he is over eligible for the post he is holding and should be held by a person of Sub-Inspector level. Sources said that the Inspector enjoys patronage of politicians and senior officers, due to which he remained immune to departmental reshuffling. "He was transferred outside Jammu, but owing to his political clout, he did not join the posting and remained attached in Jammu," sources said and added that his not joining the said posting was sheer violation of transfer policies, which says that no officer shall hold the similar post for more than three years. |
